Updates updates updates

To the few of you who check my site on a somewhat regularly basis, I’m sorry for not keeping this site quite up to date with stuff. Yes, Gears of Solace still isn’t on the films page, primarily because I’m still in debates about redesigning the website. Even if I leave it as it is (which at this point is highly unlikely), I will definitely be making some changes to the films page because of the long list of problems with it and Wordpress. So don’t expect it there for a while.

Back ontopic, I’m sorry I haven’t kept the site up to date lately, I just really don’t like looking at it. I just hate the way it looks to be honest. Which sucks, because I put a fair amount of time into customizing the template from which it’s based on. I’m still unsure if I’m keeping Wordpress, I may or may not. Both options sort of have a pro and con list, so making a decision has been especially difficult.

Regarding films, I’m working on something at the moment (I can’t reveal many details on it), but it will hopefully be done very soon. After that, I have a few more ideas for short films, though I would really like to get started on a larger project for which I have no ideas for (and the world goes round and round, amirite?). Oh, and in an unrelated piece of news, I decided to give Twitter a shot.

Your Guys’ Opinion

What do you all think of the website? Because at the moment, I’m rethinking its current layout. I know, I know, I’m never satisfied with any of the websites that I make, but I dunno, I thought I would be happy with using Wordpress, but it’s really proven to be a pain in the ass more than anything. Much of the coding I want doesn’t agree with the PHP-based system, and I have to filter through a lot of spam.

I’m considering moving back to my old HTML-based site, or perhaps even (*sigh*) starting from scratch. I’ve never made a site layout that I’ve been 100% happy with. If I were to make a site, there are a few things about this layout that I would try to keep, such as the sidebar (to keep certain things like the search form, recent video, and advertisements…a guy’s gotta make his money, right?). The one thing I’d miss from Wordpress is the comment feature, but eh, compromises must be made.

If you have something to say, a recommendation, design ideas, or any other comment about the site’s look, please leave me a comment. And don’t be afraid to be honest, as this will help me to decide if I keep this design or not.

New Film - Gears of Solace

I haven’t put up a high quality download of my latest film, so it’s not on the website, but you can catch it on YouTube. So Gears of War fans, this one’s for you.

I’ll try to have a high quality download available soon, but for now, enjoy.

Attack of the Second Amendment places 5th in Gizmodo’s Go Miniman Go Video Contest

Jesus Diaz of Gizmodo.com recently announced the winners of Gizmodo’s Go Miniman Go contest, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the LEGO minifigure, and named my film Attack of the Second Amendment the 5th place winner. Many thanks, and congratulations to the rest of the entries (especially to David Boddy, creator of the winning entry “Train to Catch”)!

Films Page Complete

I’ve finally finished working on the films page, and it is now completely up to date. So go ahead and browse around, and if there are any broken links, be sure to let me know.

At the moment, school and college applications have taken over my life and time, so I’ve had very little time to work on any brickfilming projects recently. However, I am nearing completion with one project, and I’ve entered early stages of post-production. I still need to film a few final bits, but the majority of the film has been animated already. I may post a preview picture soon, so keep an eye out.

That’s all the brickfilming-related updates I can think of. The site is still under construction, I’m still tinkering with things here and there. I want to add a navigation bar at the top to try and make navigating the site a bit easier, and I’m trying to figure out how to code rollover images that agree with WordPress’s format.

And I JUST redid this thing…

I’m never satisfied with anything, I know. I just figured that having to work the HTML code of my site for every single update wasn’t worth the trouble (which I why I let my sites become outdated in the first place), so I figured something like WordPress might help to make things a bit easier as well as give you all more to do. Bear with me while I get everything in order and learn the basics of this whole WordPress thing (as well as get basic site functions like the navigation bar up). My high-quality downloads are going to be down for a little bit, but you can still catch my films on my YouTube.
